Villa Gregoriana a Tivoli a soli pochi chilometri da Roma. Il parco fu commissionato da papa Gregorio XVI nel 1835 per ricostruire il letto del fiume Aniene seriamente danneggiato dall'inondazione del 1826. Fu completamente abbandonato e quasi totalmente dimenticato fino al restauro e riapertura al pubblico nel 2005.
l'intenzione era quella di creare un integrazione tra arte e natura . Il parco e' situato in una stretta ed alta valle dalla quale il fiume Aniene fa un salto di 130 metri in due spettacolari cascate...un viaggio "esoterico" giu' nella valle e poi su fino alla necropoli romana pieno di grotte naturali, ruderi romani, piccoli stagni, aree di sosta, e tante tante scale.
Villa Gregoriana is in Tivoli ,just a few miles out of Rome.The park was commissioned by the pope Gregorio XVI in 1835 to rebuild the bed of the river Aniene badly damaged by a big flood in 1826, was completely abandoned and nearly forgotten since 2005 when it was completely restaured and opened back to public.
The intention was to show integration between art and nature. The park is situated on a narrow and high valley from which the river Aniene makes a 130 meters jump with two spectaculat waterfalls.. an "esotheric journey downhill and uphill to the roman necropolis full of paths carved in the mountain to admire the best or most romantic view and natural caves, little ponds , rersting corners and a lot of stairs. |
